Born in Glasgow in 1939. Paddy Crerand began his career with Celtic and was regarded as a legend before the great Sir Matt Busby came along and signed him for Manchester United in 1963. He became a legend there also and played in the great United team of that era with players such as Best, Law, Stiles and Charlton. Paddy went on to win the European Cup in 1968 during that famous victory against Benfica at Wembley.
He picked up an FA Cup winners medal in his first year at United, also winning the League Championship in 1965 and 1967. The pinnacle, of course, came when he was part of the Manchester United team who won the European Cup in season 1967/1968. After hanging up his boots he remained on the coaching staff. Paddy is still active at United today, providing corporate hospitality on match day at Old Trafford.
A very proud Scotsman he gained 16 International caps for Scotland and played a total of 392 games for Manchester United scoring 15 goals.
