Andy Gray

Andy Gray has played a pivotal role in the development of Sky's football coverage. From Andy Gray's Boot Room to operating Virtual Reality and Replay 2000, his contribution has been widely recognised with a number of awards including The Royal Television Society's Sports Presenter of the Year.

Andy co-presents coverage of UEFA Champions League with Richard Keys and is co-commentator for Ford Super Sunday, the FA Cup and England internationals. At the end of his playing career in 1990, Andy joined BSB then moved to Sky Sports at its launch in 1991. During the 1991-92 season, he combined his TV work with a role as assistant manager at Aston Villa, before committing himself fulltime to broadcasting. As a player, he became the only footballer to win the PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year in the same season (1977). Starting his career at Dundee United, Andy played for Aston Villa, broke the British transfer record in 1979 with his move to Wolves, won the League title (1984-85) and scored in the victorious FA Cup (1984) and European Cup Winners' Cup Finals (1985) with Everton. He also helped Rangers win the first of nine consecutive Championships (1988-89) and made 20 appearances for Scotland. Andy, now regarded as "The Voice of Football" has signed a 5 year contract with Sky to continue as their football analyst for all Premiership action. As well as his regular slots, Andy is a popular choice for many terrestrial shows and his distinctive voice and lively personality keep his in demand for voice over work and commercial endorsements.
